About

The Karen Robinson Gallery features the work of the late artist Mendelson Joe (1944-2023). Mr. Joe was a tour de force in multiple artistic disciplines including painting, music and writing. His departure from his hometown of Toronto in 1990 to the region just north of Muskoka called the Almaguin Highlands continued to energize his art. Mendelson Joe’s painting subjects include vivid landscapes, scathing social and political commentary, and portraiture.

Karen Robinson Gallery exhibits a revolving selection of original Mendelson Joe paintings and visits to the gallery are available by appointment. The gallery also sells books of portraiture and landscapes by Mr. Joe as well as his biography “Alien; The Strange Life and Times of Mendelson Joe” written by Nadia Halim, and “Joetry” a book of song lyrics by the one of kind artist that was Mendelson Joe. In addition, Karen Robinson Gallery sells a wide selection of music CD’s by Mendelson Joe.
