About
Back for its third year, Nursery Nights is an intimate concert series that takes place on the beautiful grounds of Sandhill Nursery. There are two concerts with a showtime of 7:30 pm. Tickets range from $25 to $45.
David Francey is a Scottish-born, Canadian-raised carpenter-turned-songwriter known as one of Canadas most revered folk voices. A former rail yard and bush worker, he began writing poetic songs on the job and only started performing in his 40s with encouragement from his wife, artist Beth Girdler. His 1999 debut Torn Screen Door became a Canadian hit, launching a career that includes 13 albums, four JUNO Awards, and multiple international songwriting prizes. Franceys songs capture the grit, beauty, and humanity of working-class life, told with honesty, humour, and heart. He now lives in Ontarios Lanark Highlands with his family.
The series is a collaboration between Sandhill Nursery and the Huntsville Festival of the Arts (HfA) as a compliment to the incredibly popular annual Fall Festival at Sandhill. The series takes place inside Greenhouse #4 at Sandhill Nursery: an 1800 sq ft space intimate performance space with charming rustic décor and great acoustics. Audiences are invited to arrive early to explore Sandhill Nurserys annual Fall Festival. Features include a pumpkin slingshot, two mazes, the scavenger hunt, cornhole games, art installations and more. Beverages will be available for purchase on site and announcements about food service will be coming soon.
