Songs & Stories: The South Almaguin Scene

The South Almaguin Scene will be a series that is a story within itself and a song that is written in real time. The “story” will be about a songwriting hub at the north end of Muskoka, just above Novar in the Almaguin Highlands villages of Sprucedale, Kearney, Burk’s Falls, and Sundridge. By accident, in this rural region, hidden in the river valleys you’ll find a uniquely large number of talented songsmiths. This series will bring that music scene’s story to Gravenhurst.

The series’ “song” will be inadvertently composed by the audience. Each night, by secret ballot the audience will choose the one artist whom they would most like to hear perform again on the final night of Songs and Stories – The South Almaguin Scene. The most requested songwriters will return to perform for the final night, and the “song” that is the series will have been written. November 19th will feature Gina Horswood and Jamie Oppenheimer.
