A great combo: fall’s Golden Encore, sunshine and expected temperatures of 20°C
OCTOBER 17, 2017 – MUSKOKA, ON
The Golden Encore is fall’s last hoorah, as poplar and birch leaves (the last to turn colour), go up in colourful blaze of golden yellow. Like all encores, this is arguably the best part of the show.
October 18 – 23 will likely be the best days to take in the Golden Encore, as a near perfect weather forecast will be paired with this brilliant fall colour display. If you really wanted to experience fall colours this year but haven’t yet been able to, this will be one of your last great opportunities. Make plans and take advantage of the excellent leaf peeping conditions.
Fall drives are still colourful, but the best way to experience the Golden Encore is on one of the area’s many hiking trails. Some of the top hiking trails include: Tree Museum, Hardy Lake Provincial Park, Bracebridge Resource Management Centre, Limberlost Forest and Wildlife Reserve, and Johnston’s Cranberry Marsh.
Fun for week of October 18 – 23, 2017
Lady Muskoka is sailing the final boat cruises of the season in Muskoka this weekend, with their afternoon Millionaire’s Row Cruises. Lunch cruises are available
The harvest is still going strong at Johnston’s Cranberry Marsh, with tons of fun activities for the whole family. Get their all access farm pass, which includes their Bog to Bottle Tour (a Canadian Signature Experience), Cranberry Plunge (photo opp in the berries), and a hiking trail pass
It is a wonderful time for a fall colour hike: some of the top hiking trails include: Tree Museum, Hardy Lake Provincial Park, Bracebridge Resource Management Centre, Oxtongue Rapids Trail and Limberlost Forest and Wildlife Reserve
Experience the colours differently, with a horse and wagon ride through private, wooded trails at Back of Beyond Equine Centre. They have a larger wagon for families (up to 15), as well as a smaller one for couples
Don’t miss this great fall opportunity
This weekend is shaping up to be one for the ages, so don’t let this great opportunity pass you by.
