Muskoka Tourism is a not-for-profit that is overseen by a board of directors that represents a broad base of tourism businesses and interests from within Muskoka.
STAFF

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR: VAL HAMILTON
Since 2022 Val has led Muskoka Tourism as the must-experience destination in Ontario. Previously holding marketing leadership roles at Muskoka Brewery and Horseshoe Resort with her love for Muskoka starting at Clevelands House Resort. Val holds a Honours Communication Studies degree from Wilfrid Laurier University and a post-graduate certificate from George Brown in Digital Media Marketing. Val is also on the Board of Directors for Safe Quiet Lakes. Her favourite place in the world is on her dock with her family in Port Carling.

ADMIN & MEMBER SERVICES MANAGER - PAT LOUREIRO
Pat has been involved with Muskoka Tourism since 2005. Initially, she worked as a Travel Counsellor, assisting visitors in planning their experiences in Muskoka. Now Pat operates from the Muskoka Airport. She continues to offer support to members and visitors through phone, email, and online chat. Being born and raised in Muskoka, there is nowhere else she would rather be.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS

CHAIR: ADAM FREDERICK
Adam is currently the General Manager and Director of Golf at South Muskoka Curling & Golf Club in Bracebridge, Ontario. He brings prior experience in the DMO space having worked for Destination Greater Victoria and Fairmont Hotels & Resorts. While Adam moved out west after graduating from the University of Guelph, he was born and raised in Muskoka and has long been an ambassador for the region. Adam currently serves on the PGA of Ontario’s Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Advisory Group.

VICE CHAIR: CHRIS BOSWORTH
Chris is the Chief Marketing Officer for Algonquin Outfitters and has called Muskoka home for over 20 years. A passionate advocate for the outdoors and the natural beauty of the region, Chris is committed to supporting Muskoka Tourism in promoting all that our area has to offer. Chris holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree, having studied at both York University and Swansea University. In addition to his professional and community roles, he serves on the IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Anti-racism or Anti-hate) Advisory Group for the District of Muskoka, where he helps advance inclusive initiatives across the region.

TREASURER: JANET DENSTEDT
Janet has lived in Muskoka since she was a child when her parents relocated her family from Toronto to purchase an old Muskoka Hotel. Tourism has been in her blood ever since. After giving up my nursing career, she now owns and manages Beachside Cottages on Lake Muskoka, a small cottage resort that has been in the family for 40+ years. She also own The Old Salt Box Co in Newfoundland & Labrador, luxury vacation rental homes on the North Atlantic Ocean.

PAST CHAIR: MICHAEL SIMONETT
Michael is the Director of Rooms and Revenue for ClubLink Resorts. Previously the Chair of MTMA from 2023 - 2025.

DISTRICT REP: BRENDA RHODES
Brenda Rhodes is currently the Deputy Mayor and District Councillor for Bracebridge. Previously, she was the Executive Director for the Bracebridge Chamber of Commerce. Brenda worked as a Special Projects Manager in the Faculty of Dentistry at McGill University. Earlier in her professional career, Brenda worked for a Member of Parliament, she also held positions in the Ministries of Aboriginal Affairs & Northern Development, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada. Brenda was one of the candidates in the riding of Parry Sound-Muskoka in the 2007 & 2018 Provincial elections.

DISTRICT REP: PETER JOHNSTON
Peter has an extensive background in governance and is currently a Muskoka District Councillor with a passion for climate action. He is born and raised in Gravenhurst and has lead a successful career include 12 years as a Senior Advisor with the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing.

JORDAN WAINES
Jordan is a passionate tourism professional. He is currently the Assistant General Manager for Muskoka Steamships, so you can often find him out enjoying the beautiful Muskoka Lakes. Born and raised in Muskoka, he currently lives in Gravenhurst and in his free time enjoys camping, fishing, and mountain biking. He holds a Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree from Trent University and a diploma in Marketing from Sir Sanford Fleming College.

RACHEL HOLDEN
Rachel is the Owner and Operator at The Chalets on Lake Muskoka.

KRYSTAL PEREPELUK
As the Director of Passenger Rail at Ontario Northland, she is spearheading the return of the Northlander Passenger Rail service, connecting communities from Timmins to Toronto. With over 10 years of experience at organizations like Metrolinx and the Ontario Ministry of Transportation, Krystal brings deep expertise in infrastructure planning, stakeholder engagement, and government relations. She holds a Master’s in Urban and Regional Planning and is a Registered Professional Planner.
