Welcome to the home studio and gallery of artist and author Wendie Donabie—where paint, paper, and reclaimed materials come together in work rooted in a deep love for the Earth, and a quiet call to protect her.

Inspired by the natural world, Wendie’s art reflects both wonder and concern—an intimate response to the beauty and fragility of the life that surrounds us. In support of that belief, a portion of every sale is donated to Aspen Valley Wildlife Sanctuary, helping care for injured and orphaned wildlife in Muskoka, and to Only One, an organization working to restore ocean health and unlock its potential as a climate solution.

Just steps from downtown Bracebridge, this intimate two-room gallery offers more than original artwork. Visitors will also find a curated selection of books by local Muskoka authors, along with greeting cards and art prints that carry the spirit of the region.

Wendie’s connection to nature began in the small company town of Batawa, nestled along the Trent River and surrounded by rolling hills and deciduous forest. That early landscape still echoes through her work today—in windblown jack pines, the tangled strength of forest roots, quiet wildlife moments, and the ever-changing light over water and sky. Each piece begins with a feeling—something glimpsed, something sensed—and grows into a visual expression of place and connection.

In 2014, Wendie was honoured with the Muskoka YWCA Women of Distinction Award for Arts, Culture and Creative Energy, recognizing her contribution to the region’s creative life.

Visitors are welcome by appointment year-round, or by chance when the purple flag bearing the White Pine is flying. From spring through fall, the gallery is open many days throughout the week and most weekends, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
