Hike The Lakes – May 1 – 31, 2024

Explore the trails across Muskoka Lakes this May and you have a chance to win 1 of 10 $100 gift certificates to a local Muskoka business of choice. This self-guided scavenger hunt is happening across TEN trails in the region and you access the scavenger hunt via QR code on your smart phone.

How does it work?

  • A series of contest signs are assigned on TEN trails across Muskoka Lakes
  • Each sign will feature a QR Code to scan providing entry to the contest (online form). Hike the Lakes to win!
  • One QR Code per trail (scavenger hunt), 10 chances to win 1 of 10 $100 gift certificates to a local Muskoka business of choice.
  • Only one entry per participant per trail. More trails visited, more chances to win.
  • Contest winners to be drawn at end of contest and announced on social media.

    2. Walker’s Point Lookout Trail: Embark on a moderate 1km journey through lush forests to reach a lookout point that offers a serene vista of the surrounding Muskoka landscape.

    3. Hazelwood Trail: Meander along this 2.5km moderate trail, enveloped by the beauty of Muskoka’s nature, and discover hidden gems tucked away amidst the trees.

    4. Hardy Lake Provincial Park: Challenge yourself on trails ranging from 3km to 8km amidst the rugged beauty of Hardy Lake Provincial Park, where every step leads to a deeper connection with nature.

    5. Torrance Barrens Conservation Reserve: Experience the thrill of exploration on difficult trails spanning 3km, 5km, and 6km in the untouched wilderness of Torrance Barrens, where the vast expanse of nature invites adventure.

    6. Skeleton Lake Fish Hatchery Trail: Take an easy 1km stroll through serene woodland, perfect for a leisurely hike or a peaceful nature walk suitable for all ages.

    7. Weir Lake Trail: Immerse yourself in the tranquility of Muskoka’s natural wonders on this 3.6km moderate trail, where the beauty of Weir Lake awaits those who venture forth.

    8. Raymond Trail: Choose your adventure with options of 2km or 4km on this moderate trail, where every step leads to discovery amidst Muskoka’s captivating landscapes.

    Downtown Bala and Port Carling:

    1. Port Carling Mural Walk: Embark on an easy 2.5km stroll through the heart of Port Carling, where vibrant murals breathe life into the streets, showcasing the town’s rich history and artistic flair.

    2. Bala Historic Walk: Wander through the quaint streets of Bala on this easy 4.5km stroll, where echoes of the past mingle with the present, offering a glimpse into the charming heritage of this lakeside community.
