New World Men and The Hip Experience
New World Men pay homage to Canadas greatest band Rush.
The band came together in Montreal in the winter of 2014, sparked by a simple idea: get some talented friends in a room and play great music. Founders Marc (bass, vocals) and Frank (guitar) set out to recreate the studio magic of Rushs iconic catalogue live on stage. After finding the right rhythm section in drummer Mathieu, and discovering that Matts jaw-dropping command of Geddy Lees vocals was too good to pass up, the lineup was complete.
New World Men played their first jam sessions in the summer of 2014 and have been pushing the limits of technique and technology ever since delivering an unforgettable live experience for Rush fans everywhere.
The HIP Experience was formed with one goal in mind, to establish the Nations most authentic Tragically Hip show. Frontman Derek Lathrop leads a group of Torontos finest players; Dave Deveaux on lead guitar/vocals, Ian B Garcia on rhythm guitar/vocals, Paul Whiteside on bass/vocals and Dale Harrison on drums. Since forming in 2017 the band has wowed audiences from coast to coast. They were one of the first bands to perform a hotel concert during the Lockdowns with concert promoters Hotels Live. The Hip Experience is a crowd favourite at festivals with their high energy delivery of the Tragically Hips music. The bands performances capture the spirit of the Hip with great attention to detail and the nuances of the music.
Together, this band realized what decades of experience can accomplish. Often playing the songs in chronological order, the HIP Experience has been travelling the country spreading the gospel of one of our Nations ageless prophets and voice for indigenous peoples, Gord Downie.
