Shopping, Breweries & Eateries

Muskoka has made a name for itself in the craft beer and wine industry, with some local establishments receiving national recognition on a number of occasions.

Stop in at their retails stores and sample some of their brews while picking out keepsakes to bring home. Make sure you take a winery or brewery tour so you can learn how these amazing craft beverages are made, understand the commitment to quality and gain an appreciation for the craft. You can find a brewery in every major town!

The shopping scene in Muskoka has an emphasis on local stores and brands, artisans and creators of many different products. Cottage country communities big and small have plenty to offer shoppers on the hunt for that unique souvenir or seasonal gift. The downtown cores of larger towns like Huntsville, Bracebridge and Gravenhurst have a number of different types of retail stores to visit. From trendy clothing stores to gorgeous home furnishing shops, there’s truly something for everyone to enjoy!

Muskoka’s smaller communities, too, provide a wonderful indoor shopping adventure for the whole family. Picturesque Port Carling, two-time winner of Canada’s Communities in Bloom, is a vibrant village always popular with cottagers, day-trippers and resort guests. Stroll the long, bustling Main Street as you visit eclectic stores and eateries along the way. Similarly, Bala has a downtown core with small beautiful shops, bakeries and more!

When the urge to shop, drink and dine strikes en route to your destination in Muskoka, stop at some of these great places.
