Introducing Robert McAffee
His paintings portray an intimate vision of the Canadian wilderness that’s alive, brooding and rhythmic. With their backdrop of endless northern skies, his canvasses sing with poetic vigour and blaze with the vibrant colours of nature. A self-taught artist Robert has been inspired by inspired by Tom Thomson, Jack Reid and Claude Monet.
“I’ve always had a desire to draw and paint our country’s forest landscape. It’s in my bones,” says Robert McAffee. “This passion has taken me from the North Shore of Lake Superior, to the four corners of Algonquin Park, and from Canada’s Rocky Mountains to the scenic highlands of Quebec’s Gatineau Park”.
Serena explores the journey through the emotions created by pain that every person experiences at one point or another in their lives, whether it is from abuse, loss or some other cause of suffering. “This journey explores the physical and emotional toll on our spirit that is often hidden from others,” explains Serena. “Within this body of work, I also explore the drive to survive and transcend beyond tghe pain to healing. These emotions will be shown from a woman’s perspective.”
