Visit Your Local Sugarbush

Visiting the sugarbush in the spring has long been a tradition passed down through the generations of many Canadian families, and is one of the most quintessential of Canadian experiences. Spring is officially here when you have the sweet aroma of boiling sap filling the fresh Muskoka air. Celebrate the harvest of Canada’s most beloved natural product with a trip to your local sugarbush, and be sure check out all of Muskoka maple must-do’s on the Muskoka Maple Trail.

Winter’s Last Hurrah

This is the best time of the year to go snowshoeing. The weather is beautiful, bright and sunny, and the temperatures are perfect to get out and enjoy the great outdoors. If you are looking for a place to spend the day, Muskoka Lakes Farm & Winery has snowshoe trails and rentals on-site, as well as a winery for that post activity wine tasting. The perfect combo!

This is also the last weekend for winter fun at Arrowhead Provincial Park. This park is Muskoka’s winter playground, so it is no surprise that the winter fun goes right until the end of March. There are a number of snowshoe trails and cross country ski trails still open with rentals for each on-site.

The crew is also hopeful that the famous Arrowhead Ice Skating Trail might have one more weekend left in it. They are working hard to get it into shape, and are cautiously optimistic they might be able to open it for one last skate. ALWAYS check the Arrowhead Provincial Park’s daily update – this is updated each morning and will let you know if the skating trail is open or not.

North Ridge Ranch is reporting good trail conditions, and have a few spots open this weekend on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. If this was on your bucket list for winter 2018 but you haven’t been able to find the time, find the time this weekend.

Regardless of what trails you hit, there is still one great weekend of winter fun remaining so get out and enjoy it!
