For the week of January 6 – 12, 2020
Make the most out of winter in Muskoka with amazing outdoor experiences, like dog sledding or a magical sleigh ride through the beautiful Muskoka landscape. Wedding march your way into the Muskoka Wedding Show and interact with the vendors to plan for your special day. Sip on local brews while toe-tapping to live music. Sit back and discover more about lighthouses across Ontario during the speaker series.
Hike! Gee! Haw! There is nothing quite like the rush you get dog sledding through Muskoka’s mixed green forest, especially after a fresh snowfall at the North Ridge Ranch. If you have yet to try this authentic Canadian winter experience, put it on your winter 2020 bucket-list. No experience is necessary, and the great white north is closer than you suspect, just 2hrs north of the Hwy 400 / 401 split. The friendly owners of North Ridge Ranch in Huntsville love their dogs (check out their Story of North Ridge Ranch video), and their dogs love to run! Word of the wise, book your dog sledding adventure early, the ranch is a hot spot for eager adventure-seekers!

Lighthouses in Ontario: Speaker Series
Historian and author Larry Wright will share his recent research and findings about lighthouses across Ontario. While you’re there, explore the Muskoka Steamships & Discovery Centre. They bring the history of Muskoka’s steamships, resort hotels, indigenous peoples, early settlers, and way, way more to life through their dynamic exhibits and cutting-edge, hands-on experiences.
Magical Sleigh Ride
Dashing through the snow, in a one-horse open sleigh! When the snow flies (and it has flown a lot this winter), Back of Beyond Equine Centre and Twin Maples Farm invites guests to experience the pleasure of a horse-drawn sleigh ride through the beautiful and fluffy white snow. This great family activity is fun for all ages and is a picture-perfect way to spend a winter’s afternoon.
