JUNO award-winning singer-songwriter Matt Mays returns to Huntsville with a very special acoustic performance for Valentine’s Day. Accompanied by band mates Adam Baldwin and Ryan Stanley (a.k.a The Dark Promises), the shows will feature stripped down and “woody” interpretations of songs from his new album Twice Upon a Hell of a Time…, as well as selections from the deep well of Mays’ critically acclaimed back catalogue. Baldwin will also open the shows with an acoustic set of his own songs. Whether you are madly in love, happily single, or somewhere in between, this show is the perfect Valentine’s Day Treat!
In this delightful, laugh-a-minute comedy, four unique Southern women, all needing to escape the sameness of their day-to-day routines, are drawn together by Fate—and an impromptu happy hour—and decide it’s high time to reclaim the enthusiasm for life they’ve lost through the years. Together, they discover lasting friendships and a renewed determination to live in the moment—and most importantly, realize it’s never too late to make new old friends.
Michelle Rumball -makes sogs & she chases songs by other writers. A Juno award nominee, she sings them all with joy and conviction and a smile in her voice. Her powerful voice first emerged as the voice of the legendary Canadian acoustic rock band Grievous Angels. Now, long after a ground-breaking album with the legendary Angels, two solo records, and a sojourn in New Orleans, she’s back with a new colletion of songs and she sings all of them with heart & style. A CD by a songwriter with something to say. You may have seen her with Sue & Dwight in the “Where Have All the Folk Songs Gone” shows, or at the much loved Hugh’s Room.

Donovan Woods’ new album is a study in contrasts, as one would expect from its name: Both Ways. That push-and-pull, especially in relationships, has long been Woods’ stock in trade. As the lead track of Both Ways, “Good Lover” unfolds with acoustic instruments and Woods’ quietly compelling delivery –not what a listener might expect from the title alone. That masterful perspective has led to nominations for the Polaris Prize and the Juno Awards. In addition, his single “What Kind of Love Is That?” climbed to No. 1 on the CBC Top 20 Chart, while his catalogue has accrued nearly 45 million streams.
