For the week of June 10 – 16, 2019

Here are the hot happenings this week in Muskoka! Get out and challenge yourself (and maybe channel some anger) at Bush Poker Axe Throwing for International Axe Throwing Day on Thursday, June 13. This Friday, June 14, take some time to appreciate the paddling lifestyle with the Paddling Film Festival at Algonquin Theatre. And, Saturday, June 15, you get to have a great time and give back to the community with Muskoka Brewery’s Venture Fest.

But that’s not all! It’s also the time of year when we celebrate the Dads in our lives, and Muskoka has got tons of ways to show you care. Check out the hottest rods with the Gravenhurst and Bracebridge car shows. Or, treat Dad to a cool cruise on the SS Bigwin or with Sunset Cruises.

Axe Throwing

Whether you’re new to the experience or an old-hand at aiming axes, you’ll want to check out Muskoka’s own Bush Poker Axe Throwing for a truly unforgettable outing. Bush Poker Axe Throwing is unique because it is one of the few outdoor courses, and guest love that you get to throw from a ton of different positions (like a ninja). Folks, there’s even a target on a zip line!

Best of all – Thursday, June 13, is international Axe Throwing Day, so call and book a time so you can celebrate the day in style!

Paddling Film Festival

Muskoka is synonymous with the best paddling adventures in Canada. Now, with the Paddling Film Festival showing at the Algonquin Theatre, there’s a whole new way to share in the passion, action, and adventure associated with the paddling lifestyle. Get your tickets in advance and be prepared, after watching these unbelievable paddling films you may just feel inspired to pick up a paddle!

Venture Fest

Saturday, June 15, the Muskoka Brewery is hosting its 2nd Annual Venture Fest. You’ll get to sip and sample different craft beers, ciders, and cocktails at this awesome event, and even enjoy bites from some of their favourite food partners. Plus, you get to partake in the games, activities, and live music while also giving back to the community. That’s right, all of the funds raised go to the Muskoka Brewery’s Venture Fund to support local, non-profit causes. This event is truly a win-win-win for you, your friends, and your community.

Car Shows

Car enthusiasts will be flocking – or should we say cruising – to Muskoka for the Father’s Day weekend! Both Gravenhurst and Bracebridge will host car shows that promise to be fun for the whole family.

Bracebridge | Sunday, June 16 | Downtown |  9am – 3pm | Admission: Free for Visitors | For more information, visit their website

Father’s Day Cruises

Last but naut least, treat the Dads in your life to a different kind of cruise this Father’s Day thanks to Sunset Cruises and the SS Bigwin. With Sunset Cruises, when you buy your ticket, your Dad gets to enjoy the journey for free. And, for the Pops who loves hops, the SS Bigwin is offering a beer tasting cruise in partnership with Lake of Bays Brewing Company.
