Beautifully located beside the locks in Port Carling, we are an independent non-profit museum, focusing on the cultural history of the Muskoka Lakes.

Open from the Victoria Day weekend until Thanksgiving: 10am to 4pm, Wednesdays to
Saturdays, and noon to 4pm on Sundays. In July and August we are open until 5pm.

Admission: $2.50 Adults, $2 Seniors/students, $8 Families. Children 5 and under are FREE. Group rates and tours on request. Contact us in advance.

Interactive exhibits, museum-wide scavenger hunts, and our Flashback Fun Days kids programing are featured throughout the season. Encounter ancient artifacts from the region's First Nations people, relive the pioneer era in our 100 year-old log cabin, and experience resort and cottage life from the past to the present.

Regular summer events include our Buttertart Festival, Wednesday night lecture series, Port Carling Walking tours, and ArtiFact or Fiction gala fundraiser. We also host open houses on Canada Day, Thanksgiving weekend, and during Culture Days in September.
